David Newren

In 2001, David Newren obtained license rights through the Vatican for the production of a bust of the Madonna, taken from Michelangelo’s Pietá. Over the course of the next several years, he produced and sold editions in bronze, silver and acrylic. In 2006, Newren began collaborating with the Casa Bounarroti Museum, Florence, Italy, on several exhibitions of Michelangelo’s works in bronze. With his knowledge of the art world, and in recognition of its growing demand for limited edition reproductions. He obtained authorizations from Casa Buonarroti for his limited edition, full-scale castings of all of Michelangelo’s sculptures.
